Employment Pass Introduction

Any nationality can apply for an EntrePass

You can apply for an EntrePass if you:

  • Registered, or intent to register, a Singapore private limited company (registered with the Accounting and Regulatory Authority (ACRA)).
    • If you have already registered, the company must be less than 6 months old, from the date you apply
    • If you have not registered, you can apply after the outcome of your EntrePass application.
  • Meet at least 1 of 7 of the following criteria as an entrepreneur, innovator, or investor listed below. While you do not need to meet all the qualifications for each criteria, having more qualifications would help your application.
  • Intend to relocate to Singapore
  • The company must be innovative and must have the ability to create local employment in Singapore.
  • A new EntrePass is initially issued for 1 year. The EntrePass can be renewed after 1 year. The first renewal is valid for 1 year and thereafter all renewals are valid for 2 years.
  • Eligible EntrePass holders can bring certain family members into Singapore on a Dependant Pass or Long Term Visit Pass.
  • EntrePass holders can apply for permanent residency in Singapore in due course.

Application Process

How to apply for an EntrePass?

The process of application for EntrePass takes approximately 8 weeks and it includes the following steps:

1. Submission of the application

2. Obtain in-principle approval (IPA) letter (at which point you will have 6 months to come to Singapore and get the pass issued)

3. If necessary, register the company with ACRA: Once the IPA has been received, the candidate must register his or her company within 30 days. After the company has been registered with ACRA, the EntrePass holder must declare his or her EntrePass details to the Ministry of Manpower.

4. Submit the supporting documents

5. Obtain the notification letter (it allows you to travel in and out of Singapore while waiting for the passcard; states if you need to register to have your fingerprints and photo, and is valid for 1 month from the date of issue).

6. Register fingerprints and photo (if needed)
